Careers at Carblox

Carblox operates thanks to a team of talented writers, graphic designers, photographers, developers and more! Joining this team requires dedication and interest in the ever-changing news cycle, -- which keeping up with is not easy feat -- working with your fellow Staff to create everything from Exclusive magazines to SPECIAL REPORT interviews to every article, event and story in between, and being able to put your best work forward and represent Carblox to the best of your ability.

  • How do I join the Carblox Staff?
At the bottom of this page is a Google Form you can fill out. Do note that we aren't always accepting new employees at all times, and we hire occasionally. Once you fill out the form and submit it, wait for a Discord DM regarding it to be sent your way, and you'll go from there, through further vetting.
  • How fast do you respond to applications?
We respond usually within a week. Do not DM the Editor-in-Chief about it during the waiting period, as your application is automatically denied. Though, again, it's rare it takes more than a week.
  • What are the working hours?
Carblox is extremely flexible when it comes to working hours, but the minimum quota depends on department. Writers have to publish at least (1) article every two months, and must work on at least one story for Exclusive. Management, Development, and Visuals department staff don't have a quota, but must assist in some what in regards to Exclusive. Development staff must distribute Exclusive when the magazine is ready.
  • What is required for Carblox?
You must be over 13 years old to even think of applying. Alongside that, you need to be in both the Autoworks and Carblox Discord servers, and in the Carblox Roblox Group. The next major requirements depend on department. If you want to join the Writing Department, you need a strong command of the English language, experience with writing informative pieces, such as essays or articles, and if not, a willingness to learn how. An understanding of how to format articles for Wix's implementation of Blogs is not required, but helpful. Finally, if you plan to review automobiles, you should also have a way of testing them. If you're interested in the Visuals Department, you either need a strong handle on graphic design vector tools like Figma or Adobe's suite, or strong skills in video game photography, specifically ROBLOX-based photography. You also should be open to working with a team, receiving feedback, and be able to enjoy your creative liberty and lack of strict schedules, but actually be active. It's recommended to list what you'd want to cover personally so if you make it on the team, you don't have to be directly assigned a project to complete.
  • Why do some staff have access to the site, but others don't?
Highly trusted members of the Carblox team are given partial access to the website's Wix underpinnings for more creative independence and ease for specialized formatting. Writers get access to write and publish articles, but those must be approved by the Editor-in-Chief just like other articles you'd write on Google Docs, Microsoft Word, or any other word processor. Visuals and Development staff get access to the site design to edit it when required of them.
  • As a writer, can I write anything and everything?
Anything and everything within the scope of fictional Roblox automotive. Covering games featuring real life cars with remixed names like Greenville, Pacifico 2, Southwest Florida, and others are prohibited. Covering games related to the Fictional Automotive Industry Countries (or FAIC) community is acceptable, but must be related from a news sense. FAIC has it's own publications to cover in-lore events and news such as Gallus News Network, Aori Broadcast News, and Border Independent News. Finally, you must submit everything you plan to publish to review to a Senior Editor or the Editor-in-Chief, who can ask for changes, or disallow the publication of the work if it fails to relate to the community of fictional cars on Roblox. You can always ask someone on the team for input whenever they're available!
  • I have a question, and it's not covered here.
If you aren't already, join the Carblox Discord, and ask your question in the forums channel! Someone, either a server member, or a staff member, will answer it in due time. If that doesn't work, direct message Editor-in-Chief Catalyst_0 with your queries through Discord.
